The weekend

All went off very well and we welcomed my lost brother Steve into the family along with his daughter Holly.  My daugher Joanne arrived with my grandaughter Abigail closely followed by my other brother Dougie who arrived with his partner Connie, close on their heels was my son Patrick and his girlfriend Annabelle.  We were very fortunate with the weather and had a barbeque and sat out until quite late!  The food was cooked by my wonderful husband Bill and I may say as well as any South African doing a braai! Well done Bill, he also coped with what was sometimes mayhem but I must say enjoyed by all. The bubley flowed and so did the red wine and beer and a lovely evening was had by all.

We spent a lot of time exchanging life stories and information and still have a long way to go but it will be a pleasant journey I think.  I copied some photographs of my (our) mother, still getting used to it, and Steve took away something tangible to look at and digest. I also did copies for my brother as he didnt have these photos either, and so it was a day of sharing.

Lost siblings

I start this on a weekend when I am about to meet a long lost brother for the very first time.

I have searched for this brother for over 30 years and spoken to him once a day ago and tomorrow we meet for the first time ever, I will also be meeting a nephew and neice for the first time and so this is a big occasion in my life.

When I return to this I hope to start at the beginning and give an insite into my life and the unfortunate pitfalls that have happened not just to me but to my other brother, my half sister  and of course my mother.
